I just rewatched my favorite Fast and Furious movie on a lazy cold Friday night. Tokyo Drift of course! This Mustang with the Nissan engine is definitely my favorite part of the whole movie. Ridiculous antics like any of the other movies but this one will always be my favorite!

There's two kinds of opinions. Correct opinions, and yours.
I'm upset they made that one canonical to the story.

He's currently on NCIS New Orleans, and I've got to say I am growing to like him. That preposterous southern drawl works well on that show, and he shows much more depth than in TD.
Check out Aquila121s article on TD being the best. It's a good read. I'm sure if you search for Tokyo Drift you'll find it.

I guess its too bad he's correct then. It is actually the best of the franchise so far.

I used to hate the F&F movies but have grown to like them. I still can't enjoy that one though. F&F 7 looks awesome! Glad they got Jason Statham in it. I'm going to have a hard time rooting against him though.

My issue is, the messed up "movie" time line. The order in which they came out is them growing over the years to more correct versions of the auto world at the time.

Tokyo Drift is one of the best of the franchise for sure, and two was definitely the worst. Interestingly enough it seems as though everyone dislikes FF3? Weird.

Lies and calumny.
Tokyo Drift is not just the best, it's the only objectively good one. The rest are so-bad-it's-good or guilty pleasures. But Tokyo Drift actually has a good plot, solid acting and characters that grow and mature in a realistic way.
A cop going undercover to bust a gang of thieves who commit elaborate heists in their cars to pay for parts for street racing is too ridiculous for words.
Idiot kid gets caught up in street racing and learns a lesson about responsibility and maturity is a much more sensible plot. With better acting and a couple minor changes, it could even have lined up an Oscar nod in a slow year. Just make the kid Hispanic or something and add a bit of racial tension and you have a different take on Gran Torino. No way in hell you say that about any other movie in the franchise.

100% agree. Even if it was over the top, the storyline was phenomenal. 2nd place goes to Fast Five in my book.

couldn't agree more, to me its between that one and the first one, I dont know why people hated it, but it was really cool for gearheads, so many nods to jdm culture, it had a touch of wangan, lots of drift, good cgi (compared to the second), it had the drift king. Cars were part of the story, "sleeper" homebuilt chevelle, rb26 swapped s15, widebody veilside rx7, learning how to drift, building that blasphemous mustang (which I loved).
it was truly a movie made for car people, now? F&F movies are just another action movie with cool cars, think of xXX or Die Hard, add some cool cars and F&F cast. Oh and the rock. And that makes me sad :,( because people LOVE the new f&f.
Also, I have nothing against learning and improvinf but WTF how come Tej (Ludacris) was this dude installing stereos in hondas and now he's installing, modifying and controlling robotized intelligent plasma infused rocket launchers? Jeez.

right on the money there! I really hope the new one (7) can even come close, but I seriously doubt that based on the success of 5 and 6.

Funny, as soon as I saw them drop that engine in the Mustang, that's when I stopped watching.
